Kathleen married Jay Weiss that same year, and they had a daughter, Rachel Ann Weiss. Unfortunately, their relationship began to strain as they raised their daughter, leading to their eventual divorce.
Turner’s career remained strong, earning her an Oscar nomination for *Peggy Sue Got Married* in 1987.
However, in the 90s, she faced a major challenge when rheumatoid arthritis made it difficult for her to move. Despite this, Kathleen continued her work, turning to yoga and pilates to manage her pain.
She refocused her efforts on theater, finding success on stage and earning a Tony award nomination.
Outside of her career, Kathleen has been passionate about causes like Amnesty International and Planned Parenthood.
